Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in metal fabrication, technical blueprint interpretation, and machine operation will ensure that products meet quality standards and production deadlines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes while honing your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to technical drawings and specifications
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper tooling and machine settings
Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality compliance
Adjust machine parameters for optimal performance, troubleshooting issues during operation to minimize downtime
Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment and other forming machines to maintain safety and efficiency standards
Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal, metal forming, and assembly tasks
Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including proper use of hand tools, measuring instruments, cranes, and other shop equipment

Skills

Proficiency in operating press brake machines along with familiarity with CNC programming and CNC laser cutting technologies
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings
Experience with CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and forming machines is a plus
Skilled in measurement techniques for quality control using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and shop math principles
Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments including safety protocol adherence during machine operation and material handling
Ability to set up machining tools accurately for sheet metal fabrication and metal forming processes
Familiarity with welding, assembly procedures, tooling management, crane operation, and the use of hand tools in fabrication tasks
Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently
