Full Job Description

Vigilant Anesthesia Services is seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a full-time locum tenens contract opportunity in Southern Maryland. This is an urgent need — candidates who can begin within a few weeks are strongly preferred.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CRNA looking to work in a fast-paced surgical and anesthesia care environment alongside experienced clinical teams.

CRNA Responsibilities

Administer anesthesia and sedation for surgical, orthopedic, GYN, endoscopy, vascular, and electrophysiology (EP) procedures
Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout procedures
Manage airway and respiratory support as needed
Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure patient safety
Participate in call coverage as scheduled

CRNA Requirements

Active CRNA certification (NBCRNA) and unrestricted Maryland licensure (or eligibility)
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
Prior experience administering anesthesia in a clinical or surgical setting
Ability to start within a few weeks strongly preferred
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently

Schedule

Full-time locum tenens contract | 3-month assignment
12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
All scheduled days guaranteed based on booked case volume
Call: one weeknight per week and one weekend shift per month
