Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s credit policies, managing accounts receivable, and minimizing financial risk while supporting sales growth. In an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment, this role ensures timely collection of payments from retailers, distributors, and other customers, while maintaining strong business relationships and supporting order flow.

Key Responsibilities

Establish, implement, and enforce credit policies and procedures
Evaluate customer creditworthiness using financial statements, credit reports, and payment history
Approve or deny credit applications and set appropriate credit limits
Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively address overdue accounts
Lead collection efforts to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Shipping departments to release or hold orders based on credit status
Resolve billing discrepancies and disputes with customers
Maintain accurate records of customer credit files and payment activity
Prepare regular reports on A/R aging, bad debt exposure, and collection performance
Recommend bad debt reserves and write-offs as necessary
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations
Develop strategies to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and improve cash flow
Supervise and mentor accounts receivable or credit staff (if applicable)

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
