About Our Multi-Family Studio
Our Multi-Family Studio is central to Able City's mission of creating equitable, sustainable urban neighborhoods. We design affordable housing, mixed-use developments, workforce housing, and urban infill projects that provide high-quality homes while strengthening the communities they serve.
We are seeking an Architectural Designer II with demonstrated experience in multi-family residential design to join our growing architecture team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to projects from early design through construction administration while working alongside experienced architects, planners, and designers in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
As an Architectural Designer II, you will:
- Contribute to the planning and design of multi-family residential developments, including affordable housing, mixed-use, and urban infill projects.
- Develop creative design solutions that balance livability, density, constructability, and project goals.
- Produce architectural drawings, BIM models, renderings, diagrams, presentations, and other design deliverables.
- Develop and coordinate design and construction documents in Revit with increasing independence throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and clients to advance projects through design, permitting, and construction.
- Research building systems, materials, and construction methods applicable to multi-family residential projects.
- Apply applicable building codes, Fair Housing requirements, ADA, Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and participating in site observations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's (5-year B.Arch.) or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 4 years of professional architectural experience.
- Demonstrated experience designing multi-family residential projects with a portfolio showcasing completed work.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
- Strong understanding of multi-family building planning, residential unit layouts, accessibility, life safety, and building systems.
- Working knowledge of the International Building Code and Texas building regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with affordable housing or mixed-use residential developments.
- Experience coordinating consultant teams.
- Proficiency in visualization and graphic software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, Lumion, Bluebeam, and Rhino.
- Architectural registration or active progress toward licensure is encouraged but not required.
- Experience working on projects within Texas.

- Salary Range: $50K - $55K, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
