General Summary
Responsible for supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) by serving as a liaison between business units, Information Technology Services, application development/support teams, and internal/external stakeholders. This position facilitates the definition, documentation, validation, and maintenance of business and user requirements for PMO-supported initiatives. The Business Analyst understands current business and system processes, translates stakeholder needs into clear requirements, creates process flows and workflows, and supports project teams in delivering solutions that align with business objectives, PMO methodology, and organizational standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
- Support PMO-led initiatives by coordinating business analysis activities in accordance with PMO methodology, standards, and governance expectations.
- Manage multiple small to large requirements-gathering efforts and project support activities while helping monitor scope, schedule, cost, and quality considerations.
- Coordinate and facilitate department project meetings, requirements sessions, and stakeholder discussions to support timely project execution and decision-making.
- Partner with Project Managers to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
- Assist organizational units, Information Technology Services, and departments in developing and implementing improvement plans aligned with strategic goals.
- Requirements Development and Documentation
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and user requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, process reviews, workflow analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Translate business needs into clear, complete, and testable user requirements, functional requirements, process flows, workflows, and requirements specifications using standard templates and natural language.
- Manage and maintain requirements documentation throughout the project and development lifecycle, including updates, approvals, version control, and stakeholder validation.
- Create and maintain requirements traceability matrices (RTM) and final requirements documentation with linkage to approved requirements and related deliverables.
- Provide input to Information Technology Services and business stakeholders in the development of test cases and user acceptance testing support, as needed.
- Business Process, Data, and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze current business and system processes to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, improvement opportunities, and impacts to stakeholders or operations.
- Support performance improvement and business excellence initiatives by collecting data, analyzing organizational needs, evaluating effectiveness, and making recommendations.
- Perform routine data entry, analysis, and reporting to measure and monitor operational and project performance.
- Coordinate or perform feasibility assessments and cost/benefit analysis related to process improvement and PMO-supported projects.
- Develop future-state process maps and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement activities utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, including providing guidance to teams through process improvement stages.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, PMO standards, and company policies.
- Support development of test strategies, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) plans.
- Validate delivered solutions against documented requirements.
- Develop executive-level summaries, presentations, and project artifacts for PMO governance.
- Create and maintain documentation including business requirements documents, functional requirements, process maps, and user guides.

Education
Required Minimum Education
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work relative to the field of assignment.
Licenses and/or Certifications
- Valid United States Driver’s License
Experience
Required Minimum Experience
Requires two or more years of creating business requirements and process documentation experience.
- Requires a minimum of two years' experience with the Microsoft Office suite and MS Visio.
- Requires a minimum of two or more years of technical writing experience, to include writing working knowledge of various SDLC methodologies.
- Requires strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Requires experience creating process maps, workflow documentation, and business requirements documentation.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting enterprise PMO initiatives preferred.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, or Agile certifications preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
Knowledge
Must have an understanding of fundamental business analysis methods and tools.
- Must have an understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and the five processes that define a managed project.
- Must have an excellent understanding of Quality Control/Assurance and be familiar with regulatory requirements.

Working Environment & Travel Requirements
Works in well-lighted, air-conditioned and heated vehicle or office environments, but may work in confined spaces and non-climate controlled conditions. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment.
