Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist and Back Office Medical Assistant (MA) to join our vibrant healthcare team. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient service while supporting clinical operations in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering top-tier care and administrative support. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, manage appointment scheduling, handle medical documentation, and assist with clinical procedures to ensure seamless patient experiences. This role is vital in maintaining efficient clinic operations and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression while managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently
Schedule appointments, confirm patient information, and coordinate follow-up visits using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Collect patient vital signs, medical histories, and insurance information accurately during intake procedures
Assist with clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, taking vital signs, and basic life support (BLS) procedures
Maintain organized medical records, ensure proper documentation of patient encounters, and update electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) regularly
Support physicians and healthcare providers with clinical duties including specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and basic physiology assessments
Manage phone calls professionally, answer inquiries, triage urgent cases, and direct communication to appropriate staff members
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and back office to uphold clinic standards of hygiene and safety

Skills

Proven experience in medical office management or as a Medical Assistant within dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, pharmacology, and medical documentation practices
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems), EMR/EHR management, and medical records organization
Ability to perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, X-ray assistance, and basic life support (BLS) certification preferred
Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and inpatient settings
Experience working in hospital environments or Level I/II trauma centers is advantageous
Knowledge of medical-surgical practices across internal medicine or emergency medicine settings is desirable
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry tasks
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
