Job Summary:
The Junior DevOps Engineer develops, implements, supports, manages, reports, and monitors our customers’ DevOps infrastructure, leveraging 5.15’s experience, technical knowledge, and DevOps/SRE expertise. The Junior DevOps Engineer is responsible for providing consulting, reactive, proactive, and preventative services for DevOps technologies including serving as a trusted advisor who understands the customer’s environment and works as an extension of the customer’s DevOps team.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position is:
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Candidates must be willing to relocate based on business or customer needs
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or Engineering
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned to standard U.S. Central Time business hours
- Candidates must be flexible and available to support customer change control windows during off hours, nights, and weekends as required
- Ability to travel is required

- Demonstrated technical fluency and/or hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Operating Systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, Windows Server)
- CI/CD Platforms (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Containerization (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Scripting and Automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Version Control (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub)
- Infrastructure Automation (Ansible, Terraform)
- Monitoring and Observability (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Security and Compliance (container scanning, secrets management, vulnerability remediation)
Responsibilities:
- Support the DevOps mission to bridge the gap between development and operations teams.
- Improving quality, reliability, observability, security, and stability.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
- Assist teammates and technology consumers with solving complex technical issues.
- Support developers as needed with DevOps/SRE technologies.
- Possess an excellent technical understanding of IT automation technologies and how to support and manage them in a variety of settings, ranging from basic to complex.
- Demonstrate the desire and ability to continue learning new concepts and remain up to date on the most recent technologies, particularly those related to DevOps/SRE technologies.
- Develop, deploy, install, configure, and maintain DevOps technology solutions for customer environments.
- Maintain rigorous security maintenance on all DevOps technologies.
- Maintain technical documentation.
- Providing validation support and documentation to support DevOps maintenance related tasks.
- Providing on-call support as required.
- Support development, infrastructure, and security projects and deployments.
