Senior Project Manager - Data Center Construction

Location: Texas (On-site, project-based) Project Value: $1.3 Billion Hyperscale Data Center Build Employer: Confidential - Top-Tier National General Contractor Reports to: Project Executive / Operations Director

About the Opportunity

A leading general contractor with a deep track record in mission critical, industrial, and large-scale commercial construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery on a $1.3 billion hyperscale data center development in Texas.

This is a flagship project within the company's rapidly expanding mission critical division, offering long-term career growth, exposure to one of the most active data center markets in North America, and the opportunity to lead a high-performing team on a marquee build.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and accountability for the successful delivery of a $1.3B data center project, from preconstruction through closeout.
Manage all project financials, including budgets, forecasts, change orders, cost reporting, and monthly client billings.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, design team, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers, Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and field staff.
Oversee scheduling, procurement, and logistics in coordination with the Superintendent and self-perform divisions.
Drive safety, quality, and compliance standards across all phases of the project.
Manage subcontractor buyout, contract negotiations, and ongoing performance management.
Partner with preconstruction on estimating, value engineering, and constructibility reviews.
Ensure adherence to the owner's technical specifications, including MEP, structural, and commissioning requirements.
Report regularly to executive leadership on project performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Required Experience & Qualifications

10+ years of progressive construction management experience with a reputable general contractor.
Proven experience delivering mission critical, data center, or large-scale industrial projects valued at $200M+ (data center experience strongly preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage complex budgets, forecasts, and contracts.
Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams on fast-paced, high-volume projects.
Excellent client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage hyperscale or colocation end users.
Working knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and data center-specific requirements (UPS, generators, chillers, switchgear, etc.).
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software, and standard MS Office tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience on hyperscale data center builds for major end users.
Familiarity with the Texas construction market, local subcontractor base, and AHJ requirements.
Prior experience managing self-perform scopes (concrete, structural, etc.).
OSHA 30, LEED AP, or PMP certifications.
