Position Summary:
The Apprentice Code Plumber assists with the installation, assembly, and maintenance of residential pool construction plumbing and gas systems. This position supports plumbing operations by installing piping, valves, fittings, and related equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and company procedures. The ideal candidate has gas plumbing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install valves, pipes, fittings, and plumbing components for residential pool construction projects
- Install equipment including fire rings, fire bowls, backflow preventers, and related gas and plumbing systems
- Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipe ranging from 1/2” to 3” in size
- Safely operate and utilize everyday hand tools and equipment specific to gas and plumbing installations
- Assist with testing and inspecting plumbing and gas systems for proper functionality and code compliance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive job site at all times
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable plumbing and gas codes
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills:
· Strong knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, and installation techniques
· Ability to read measurements and follow installation instructions
· Strong work ethic with reliable attendance
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to maintain safety awareness in active construction environments
Education, Licensing, and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
· Minimum Apprentice Plumbing License required
· Valid state-issued driver’s license with a safe driving record required
· Must be authorized to work in the United States
· Minimum of 1 year of plumbing experience with threaded pipe ranging from 1/2” to 3” pipe size required
· Experience working with gas plumbing systems preferred
· Experience in residential construction or pool construction preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
· Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl regularly
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Ability to stand and perform physical labor for extended periods
