Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Acupuncturist to join our established acupuncture clinic as an independent contractor. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated practitioner who enjoys the flexibility of private practice while benefiting from an established clinic with existing patient referrals.
This is in independent contractor position that pays a split fee per patient. As an independent contractor, you will have the opportunity to build your patient base while earning a competitive percentage of revenue generated from your treatments.
Flourish's patient base consists of mostly women, emphasizing treatment in pain relief, reproductive health, stress management, and overall wellness support.
Our clinic is contracted with Optum healthcare. The ideal candidate will already be contracted as an in-network provider with Optum and ready to take on patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient consultations, assessments, and acupuncture treatments.
- Develop and present individualized treatment plans that incorporate acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet & lifestyle changes.
- Educate patients of treatment recommendations and wellness strategies.
- Administer acupuncture sessions with precision, ensuring clean needle technique and patient comfort at all times.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) documenting all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and progress notes.
- Provide correct insurance coding and billing (ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT codes).
- Provide exceptional patient care and professional customer service.
- Collaborate with other acupuncturists within the clinic as appropriate.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
- Experience in treating pain and reproductive health.
- Strong client communication skills to effectively explain procedures, address concerns, and foster trust with patients.
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and physical examinations to inform treatment strategies.
- Proficiency in Janeapp for EHR, scheduling, and billing.
- Proficiency in Optum Healthcare online claims submissions.
- Proficiency in accurate documentation and EHR charting.
- Knowledge in TCM herbal medicine and food medicine.
- Skilled in clean needle technique to ensure safe practice.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Acupuncture license in the state of California.
- Current professional liability insurance.
- Enrolled as an Optum healthcare provider, or willing to enroll.
- Individual NPI number.

Compensation
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with compensation based on a percentage split of collected treatment revenue.
