Restaurant group looking for Catering Sales Manager (San Diego)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced Catering Sales Manager to join our team, with a strong emphasis on outside sales and new business development. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the San Diego market and established relationships with local event planners and others in the events industry. This role is responsible for generating new leads (for both catering and bar divisions), selling and planning events, and ensuring flawless execution — all while delivering exceptional service at every stage of the client experience. REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum of 3 years of catering sales experience with an established local client base, strong industry relationships, and a proven record of success in a high‑volume environment.
· Genuine passion for exceptional food, creative event design, and delivering outstanding customer service.
· Demonstrated ability to proactively network, prospect, and cultivate relationships to increase brand visibility and drive new business.
· Skilled in developing and managing a robust pipeline through market research, outreach, and consistent follow‑up.
· Comfortable representing the company at industry events, networking functions, and community engagements.
· Highly self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, with the ability to generate leads, sell effectively, negotiate confidently, and close deals.
· Ability to respond promptly to inquiries, prepare detailed proposals, conduct site visits, and guide clients seamlessly through the sales and planning process.
· Strong understanding of food & beverage logistics and operations.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong time‑management and interpersonal abilities.
· Polished appearance, outgoing personality and professional demeanor.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with Tripleseat or similar catering software is preferred.
· Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required.
· College Degree Preferred
· Three References from previous employers required
