Position Purpose

The Director of Food and Beverage at Four Points by Sheraton plays a crucial role in ensuring the success and profitability of the hotel’s food and beverage operations. This position is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquet facilities. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver an exceptional dining experience to guests, maintain the highest standards of service and quality, and drive revenue growth while controlling costs.

The Director of Food and Beverage is a key member of the hotel's executive team, working closely with the General Manager and other department heads to align the food and beverage operations with the overall goals and objectives of the hotel. This role requires a dynamic and innovative leader who can inspire and manage a diverse team, optimize operational efficiency, and continuously improve the guest experience.

By effectively managing resources, developing talent, and implementing strategic initiatives, the Director of Food and Beverage ensures that our hotel stands out as a premier destination for dining and events, contributing significantly to the hotel's reputation and financial success.

Essential Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

● Oversee the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant, bar, room service, meeting spaces, and event space.

● Ensure seamless integration and coordination among all food and beverage functions to provide consistent and high-quality service.

Financial Management

● Develop, monitor, and manage the food and beverage department’s budget to meet or exceed financial targets.

● Implement effective cost-control measures and financial strategies to optimize revenue and minimize expenses.

● Analyze financial reports and data to make informed business decisions and adjustments.

● Daily POS reconciliation with PMS system

Staff Management and Development

● Recruit, hire, train, and manage a diverse team of food and beverage professionals.

● Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes staff engagement and professional growth.

● Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for staff development.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence

● Ensure all food and beverage services meet the highest standards of quality and hospitality.

● Strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.

● Continuously monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall dining and event experience.

Menu and Beverage Program Development

● Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and update innovative and appealing menus for the restaurant, bar, and catering services.

● Oversee the creation and maintenance of a compelling beverage program, including wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.

● Ensure all menu items and beverages are prepared and presented to high standards.

Event and Banquet Management

● Plan, coordinate, and oversee all food and beverage services for meetings, conferences, weddings, and other events held in the hotel’s meeting spaces and event space.

● Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver customized event experiences.

● Manage event setup, execution, and breakdown to ensure smooth operations and high levels of client satisfaction.

Compliance and Safety

● Ensure all food and beverage operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.

● Maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety in all areas.

● Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance and address any issues promptly.

Vendor and Inventory Management

● Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.

● Oversee inventory management to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and controlling costs.

● Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.

Marketing and Promotions

● Develop and execute marketing strategies and promotions to drive traffic and revenue to the restaurant, bar, and event spaces.

● Collaborate with the sales team to create promotional materials and campaigns.

● Monitor the effectiveness of marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed to achieve business goals.

Strategic Planning and Innovation

● Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the food and beverage department’s performance and growth.

● Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, incorporating innovative ideas to keep the offerings fresh and competitive.

● Identify opportunities for expanding services, improving operational efficiency, and increasing revenue.

Reporting and Communication

● Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, financial status, guest feedback, and strategic initiatives to the General Manager and executive team.

● Maintain clear and open communication with all departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Continuous Improvement

● Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging staff to provide feedback and suggest enhancements.

● Implement processes and systems to improve efficiency, service quality, and guest satisfaction.

● Regularly review and update standard operating procedures to reflect best practices and operational needs.

Professional Experience:

● Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

● 4+ years of experience in food and beverage management, hotels preferred

● Ability to interpret financial and operational data into operational plan

● Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop a team.

● Ability to create and execute unique food and beverage concepts.

● Knowledge of industry trends and techniques.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Ability to manage budgets and achieve financial targets.

● Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
