Mechanical Engineer – Pipe Stress & Pipe Support Design (Entry-Level / Early Career)

Location: Solana Beach, CA (onsite)

Compensation:

JSC Engineers is a Solana Beach, CA engineering firm specializing in pipe stress analysis and pipe support delegated design. We work as the delegated-design engineer for projects across power, industrial, water/wastewater, and data center markets, producing stress analysis reports, support reaction packages, and anchor/concrete design deliverables.

We're looking for an early-career mechanical engineer to grow with us. If you're strong in SolidWorks and eager to learn piping codes and stress analysis, we'll teach you the rest.

What You'll Do

Develop pipe stress models in CAESAR II, including physical properties of the piping, contents, and insulation
Perform pipe stress analysis for power and industrial piping systems per ASME B31.1, B31.3, and related codes
Select and specify pipe supports: shoes, guides, rigid rod hangers, spring hangers, snubbers, and struts
Calculate and organize pipe support loads transmitted to structural steel into clear Excel deliverables for structural and other disciplines
Use SolidWorks to produce fabrication drawings, bills of material, and production information for pipe support assemblies
Coordinate with engineers of record, structural engineers, and fabricators to keep deliverables on schedule

Requirements

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
0–5 years of engineering experience
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks: modeling and drawing production
Strong organizational and time-management skills; proactive in obtaining information needed to complete work on time

Nice to Have (We'll Train the Right Candidate)

Exposure to CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, or other pipe stress software
Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, ASME Section VIII, ASCE 7, or related codes and standards
Interest in pursuing EIT/PE licensure
