JOB DESCRIPTION — DENTAL BILLING / INSURANCE COORDINATOR

$30-$33 per hour 4 days a week

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Dental Insurance & Billing Coordinator with 3–5 years of Dental Billing Experience.You'll be the vital link between our patients, our clinical team, and insurance carriers, keeping claims moving, accounts current, and reimbursements on time. Our goal is a "zero balance" office with every claim paid within 30 days, and you'll be the one making that happen.

What You'll Do

Submit and track insurance claims electronically, following up proactively through carrier portals and eServices/eClaims to keep claims flowing efficiently
Manage patient accounts receivable — calling patients about balances, arranging payment, and maintaining open, trust-building communication
Post insurance payments (EFT, checks, and EOBs) daily and ensure patient ledgers stay accurately balanced
Appeal denied claims electronically, including narratives and x-ray attachments as needed
Review clinical notes daily to support accurate billing and documentation
Enroll the practice in EFT with Delta Dental, Aetna, MetLife, and other carriers that support direct deposit
Generate and review daily day sheets and aging reports, and investigate outstanding claims
Research refund requests, credits, and PPO fee schedules to keep our Usual & Customary Rates competitive (target: 85th percentile)
Answer incoming calls and be a knowledgeable, friendly first point of contact for billing questions
Stay current on insurance policies, coding trends, and best practices in dental billing

What You Bring

3–5 years of experience in dental office billing and insurance coordination
Hands-on experience with Dentrix required; familiarity with Dental Intel, Weave, and DEXIS a plus
Confidence navigating online claim submission portals and electronic claims processes
Sharp attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced office
Strong, warm communication skills — you can explain a balance to a patient as easily as you can appeal a denial to a carrier
A team-first mindset and genuine care for the patient experience
