Position Summary
Level UP Enrichment is seeking an organized, dependable, and engaging Lead Trainer & Materials Manager to support enrichment programs throughout the Ramona Unified School District.
This hybrid position combines weekday classroom instruction with employee training, program support, and materials management. During the school year, the employee will teach a 2.5-hour enrichment class Monday through Friday. The employee will also complete approximately 10 hours of Lead Trainer and Materials Manager work each week throughout the year, including school breaks and summer.
Fall teaching assignments will primarily include Chess and Art. Additional programs may be assigned during winter and spring based on enrollment and business needs.
Schedule and CompensationClassroom Teaching
- Monday through Friday when Ramona USD schools are in session
- 1:45 p.m.–4:15 p.m.
- Approximately 12.5 teaching hours per week
- $30.00 per hour
Lead Trainer and Materials Manager Duties
- Approximately 10 hours per week, year-round
- Flexible hybrid schedule outside required teaching hours
- Combination of remote work and in-person assignments
- Occasional weekend availability required
- $22.00 per hour
Required office visits, weekend trainings, materials preparation, and operational support are paid at the $22.00 hourly rate.
During a full school week, this position is expected to include approximately 22.5 hours and $595.00 in gross compensation. Actual hours and compensation may vary based on the school calendar, enrollment, scheduling, and business needs.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Instruction
- Teach engaging, age-appropriate Chess, Art, and other assigned enrichment classes.
- Follow Level UP curriculum, lesson plans, safety procedures, and classroom-management expectations.
- Arrive on time and prepared with all required materials.
- Create a safe, welcoming, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Track attendance and follow all student dismissal procedures.
- Promptly report student concerns, incidents, injuries, and school-site issues.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, families, school employees, and Level UP team members.
- Set up, clean, organize, and secure program materials before and after each class.
Instructor Training and Support
- Support the onboarding and professional development of new and current instructors.
- Lead or assist with virtual and in-person employee training.
- Model Level UP teaching, classroom-management, and operational standards.
- Observe instructors and provide clear, respectful, and actionable feedback.
- Help instructors understand curriculum, lesson pacing, materials, classroom management, and student engagement.
- Conduct instructor check-ins and provide follow-up coaching.
- Identify training needs and communicate performance concerns to management.
- Document trainings, observations, coaching conversations, and required follow-up.
- Help maintain consistent program quality across assigned school locations.
Materials Management
- Organize, prepare, pack, distribute, collect, and store program materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for supplies, equipment, and program kits.
- Identify materials that need to be repaired, replaced, or replenished.
- Inspect returned materials for damage, missing pieces, cleanliness, and safety concerns.
- Clean, label, restock, and securely store company materials.
- Coordinate materials pickup and return with instructors and managers.
- Promptly report lost, damaged, or incomplete materials.
- Recommend improvements to inventory and materials-management procedures.
Administrative and Operational Support
- Complete approximately 10 assigned Lead Trainer and Materials Manager hours each week throughout the year.
- Maintain regular communication with the Operations team.
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and instructor observations.
- Assist with curriculum preparation, employee support, and program troubleshooting.
- Submit reports, inventory updates, and training documentation on time.
- Support occasional weekend trainings, events, and materials projects.
- Travel to the Kearny Mesa office when required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in teaching, coaching, childcare, camps, youth development, or enrichment programs.
- Ability to independently lead and manage a classroom of elementary-aged students.
- Strong communication, organization, classroom-management, and time-management skills.
- Ability to train employees and provide respectful, constructive feedback.
- Ability to work independently during remote and administrative hours.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully complete a Live Scan background check and obtain required TB clearance.
- Availability Monday through Friday from 1:45 p.m.–4:15 p.m. during the Ramona USD school year.
- Availability for occasional Kearny Mesa office visits and weekend assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Chess or visual arts.
- Experience as a lead instructor, trainer, supervisor, or program coordinator.
- Experience with inventory management, curriculum implementation, materials preparation, or instructor coaching.
A teaching credential is not required.
Travel Requirements
Regular travel to assigned Ramona USD schools is required.
Travel between the employee’s home and the Level UP main office in Kearny Mesa is considered a normal commute and is not reimbursed. Authorized travel from the office to another work location may qualify for reimbursement under company policy.
Teaching assignments located more than 15 miles from the employee’s home may qualify for a gas bonus under company policy.
Physical Requirements
Employees must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Work at a computer.
- Regularly move throughout school campuses.
- Complete classroom setup and cleanup.
- Organize and transport program materials.
- Lift or transport materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Transport supplies in a personal vehicle.

Paid Sick Leave and Bonuses
Employees receive a lump-sum bank of 40 hours of paid sick leave after completing 90 calendar days of employment.
The sick leave bank renews annually on the employee’s hiring anniversary in accordance with company policy and applicable law. Sick leave may apply to eligible teaching, office, training, materials, and weekend hours.
Sick leave pay will be calculated using the company’s approved payroll method for employees working at multiple hourly rates.
Employees may also qualify for seasonal performance bonuses ranging from $50 to $100, based on attendance, performance, professionalism, and completion of assigned responsibilities. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are administered according to company policy.

Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Employees must maintain consistent weekday teaching availability, complete assigned year-round administrative hours, communicate scheduling conflicts promptly, protect confidential information, follow school and company procedures, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.
