Full Job Description

Procopio is seeking an IP Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic IP team in our downtown San Diego office. This position will provide administrative support to the IP team, including attorneys, staff, and clients, and will be an integral part of our mission to deliver exceptional IP services to our clients.

The IP Administrative Assistant will be responsible for coordinating onboarding of new clients with the Conflicts Department, coordinating opening of new matters for existing clients with the Docketing Department, performing administrative tasks for attorneys, such as expense reimbursement requests, meeting scheduling, travel and seminar arrangements, and document management, and reviewing incoming USPTO communications.

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with exceptional organizational, communication, and prioritization skills. Candidates must be detail-oriented, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with attorneys, staff, and clients.

Qualified candidates should have at least one year of legal support experience. Some knowledge of USPTO systems (Patent Center, Trademark Center, and TSDR) is preferred but not required. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required. Experience with FoundationIP and other IP legal software is preferred but not required.

Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay range is from $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience. If your pay expectation is outside this range, we still encourage you to apply. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance.
