Full Job Description

Velasco Auto Care Center is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Writer to join our growing team. We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused professional with strong automotive knowledge who can provide excellent service while helping manage the daily flow of our repair shop.

If you have a passion for the automotive industry, enjoy working with customers, and have the experience to keep a busy shop running efficiently, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues.
Prepare repair estimates and explain recommended repairs.
Schedule appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians.
Keep customers updated on repair progress and completion times.
Order and verify the correct automotive parts when needed.
Review completed repairs and prepare invoices.
Process payments and close repair orders.
Maintain accurate repair orders and customer records.
Help ensure repairs are completed efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience as an Automotive Service Writer or Service Advisor.
Extensive knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance, diagnostic procedures, parts, and shop operations.
Strong understanding of automotive parts and estimating.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with computers and shop management software.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an independent automotive repair shop.
Experience using digital vehicle inspections and estimating software.
ASE Service Consultant certification is a plus.
