Full Job Description

Job Summary

Corcus Construction, Inc. is a public works contractor specializing in various civil engineering scopes including pump station/wastewater treatment facilities, mechanical systems, utility installations, earthwork and site development, Environmentally sensitive projects, and structural concrete construction. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Construction Estimating Assistant to support our Estimating Department with public works bids and provide administrative assistance with certified payroll reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist the estimator with preparing and submitting public works bids, including bid forms and other required documents.
Assist the estimator with reviewing plans, specifications, addenda, and project requirements.
Coordinate bid bond requests and ensure all required documents are received before submission deadlines.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks as needed.
Track bid deadlines, addenda, RFIs, subcontractor quotes, and supplier proposals.
Contact subcontractors and vendors to request pricing, confirm participation, and follow up on outstanding quotes.
Organize quotes and compile complete bid packages for the estimator’s review and submission.
Maintain organized electronic and physical files and assist with bid results, follow-up documentation, and project handoff after award.
Assist with preparing and submitting certified payroll and non-performance reports.
Follow up with subcontractors regarding missing certified payroll reports and supporting documentation.
Perform other estimating and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize time-sensitive tasks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PDF software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to review detailed documents and enter information accurately.
Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company-provided vehicle for pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction office.

Preferred:

Previous experience in public works construction, estimating, bidding, project administration, certified payroll, or labor compliance.
Familiarity with public agency bidding documents, bid bond requests, construction plans, and specifications.
Understanding of certified payroll or prevailing wage requirements.
Experience with Bluebeam, estimating software, or construction management software.
