The Performance Center Cycling Coach is a dual-mandate execution role responsible for:
- Elite, technically precise in-person cycling coaching in the Purple Patch bike theater
- Operational readiness, facility standards, and athlete experience execution across every coached ride
This role pairs high-level coaching delivery, leading structured, progressive bike sessions for mixed-ability athletes, with disciplined on-floor execution so that every class starts on time, runs cleanly, and feels premium from the moment an athlete walks in.
Purple Patch cycling is program-led. Effort is driven by the session design: prescribed power, cadence, and resistance on the Wahoo Kickr smart trainers. The work is structured and dynamic: intervals, cadence builds, climbs, and surges, each with its own feel. The coach delivers that programming with genuine energy and presence, building real performance through expert instruction.
Music is part of that delivery. Coaches may build their own playlists or use prebuilt Purple Patch playlists, drawing on a deliberate range of music to shape the emotion and energy of the room and keep athletes engaged.
This role also owns the full class experience before, during, and after each session: preparing the bike theater, dialing in fits and setting up the Kickr trainers, welcoming athletes as they arrive, ensuring the space and technology are ready, and resetting the facility for the next class or the next business day.
When executed at a high level, this role:
- Builds athlete confidence, cycling skill, and long-term development through expert, technically sound coaching
- Delivers classes with zero delays, confusion, or scrambling
- Ensures every session is fully prepared, with bikes, fits, trainers, data, and technology ready before athletes arrive
- Creates a warm, professional, and organized athlete experience from arrival through departure
- Maintains the cleanliness, professionalism, and premium standard of the bike theater and Performance Center
- Resets the space after each class so the Center is ready for the next session or the next day
- Eliminates operational noise by resolving issues immediately on the floor
