Location: San Francisco, US (hybrid)

The Role

We are seeking a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the team building the software behind Chemifys robotic synthesis platform. You will work across the stack on real features from backend services to the interfaces scientists use with senior engineers close at hand to review your work and help you grow fast.

What sets this role apart is the platform itself: a rare early-career seat where the software you write helps physically make molecules, not just move data around.

Key Responsibilities

Build and ship full-stack features under the guidance of senior engineers.
Fix bugs, write tests, and improve tooling across backend services and web front-ends.
Learn how the platform turns experiment definitions into robotic execution, and contribute to it.
Take part in code reviews, design discussions growing your ownership over time.

About You

You are early in your career but serious about the craft curious, quick to learn, and energised by hard problems. You ask good questions, act on feedback, and want to grow alongside engineers who will push you.

We expect you to bring:

02 years of software experience (internships, projects, or a strong portfolio count).
Working knowledge of at least one backend language ([Python/C/C++)
Strong fundamentals and a genuine appetite to learn quickly.
Clear communication and comfort asking questions and acting on feedback.

Beneficial Skills

A degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent self-taught proof.
Any exposure to robotics, hardware, lab automation, or scientific computing.
