Minimum Qualifications

2–3 years of experience in digital marketing, email marketing, communications, or related roles.

Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.

Experience building and deploying emails in an email marketing or marketing automation platform. Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot preferred.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with digital marketing best practices, including email QA, website content management, SEO fundamentals, and accessibility considerations.

Working knowledge of Google Analytics or similar reporting tools.

Strong written communication and copyediting skills for digital content.

Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Desired Qualifications (Optional)

Basic HTML/CSS knowledge (email and web development).

Experience working in nonprofit or community-centered organizations.

Familiarity with project management or ticketing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce Cases).

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Growth Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Associate supports the operational engine of the YMCA of Greater San Francisco’s digital marketing communications across website and email channels. They ensure emails deploy flawlessly, website content stays current and compelling.

This role is responsible for building and deploying emails, publishing and updating website content, conducting quality assurance (QA) reviews, and supporting the timely execution of digital campaigns and communications. The Digital Marketing Associate helps ensure a consistent, accessible, and brand-aligned experience across touchpoints. Working closely with the broader Marketing & Communication (MarCom) team, this role plays a key operational part in supporting campaign execution, content publishing, and digital communication workflows with room to innovate and optimize workflows to achieve high-caliber efficiencies.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in operational excellence, is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and interested in growing their experience in digital marketing operations and communications inside a mission-driven organization with real community impact.

Job Responsibilities

Email Operations (60%)

Build, test, schedule, and deploy marketing emails and newsletters using Salesforce Account Engagement/Pardot or similar email marketing platforms, owning the full production cycle from brief to deployment to performance analysis.

Conduct rigorous QA across desktop and mobile devices to ensure formatting accuracy, link functionality, accessibility, and brand consistency before every send.

Support audience segmentation, list management, and data hygiene in collaboration with the Growth Marketing Manager.

Maintain recurring email templates, automated communications, and campaign workflows.

Support execution timelines and deployment schedules for email campaigns and organizational communications.

Track and synthesize basic email performance metrics including opens, click-through rates, unsubscribes, and deliverability reporting and surface actionable insights.

Assist with documentation of email production processes and operational workflows.

Website Operations (40%)

Publish and maintain website content in WordPress, including landing pages, program information, schedules, event pages, and campaign content with a sharp eye for accuracy and brand alignment.

Conduct website QA to review links, forms, formatting, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and content accuracy and freshness.

Support ongoing website maintenance by coordinating updates, troubleshooting issues, and escalating technical needs to appropriate internal team members or vendors.

Implement basic SEO best practices including metadata, alt text, redirects, and internal linking.

Monitor and flag website content reviews to identify outdated content, broken links, and opportunities for improvement.

Maintain organized workflows for website requests, approvals, and publishing schedules.

Submit event listings to external websites for broader reach and awareness in relevant communities.

Support Google Analytics 4 and Search Console reporting by preparing basic traffic and campaign summaries.
