Full Job Description

Interpreter (Cantonese/English)

San Francisco, CA
Temporary Assignment | 30 Hours/Week | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
$28-$31/hr

We're hiring immediately!

Do you enjoy helping people feel heard, understood, and supported? We're looking for a compassionate Cantonese/English Interpreter to join a healthcare team serving older adults in San Francisco.

If you're fluent in both Cantonese and English and have experience working with seniors, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

Provide accurate verbal interpretation between Cantonese and English during medical appointments and other participant interactions.
Translate non-legal written materials, including participant communications, appointment information, and training documents.
Help facilitate clear, compassionate communication between participants, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Coordinate interpretation schedules across multiple clinic locations as needed.
Maintain required documentation, records, and administrative tasks related to interpretation services.
Protect participant confidentiality and handle sensitive health information with professionalism.
Support a culturally inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for participants and staff.
Travel to different center locations as needed to provide interpretation services.

What We're Looking For

Required:

Fluent in Cantonese and English (spoken and written)
Experience working with older adults or seniors, or a strong interest in serving the elderly population
Professional, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
Comfortable using computers and maintaining accurate documentation
Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed
Strong commitment to maintaining participant confidentiality

Preferred:

Medical interpreter certification
Knowledge of medical terminology
Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
