Environmental Services Technician I and II (House Keeper/Porter) Hybrid
Our property located at 100 Van Ness Properties is in need of a EVS Tech. to join the property management team. As an Environmental Services Technician, you hold responsibility to maintain a luxurious appearance of the apartment units and common areas units to prepare a welcoming home for our residents to move in to.
- Preparation of Vacant Unit Turnovers as scheduled by the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineers
- Daily cleaning of assigned areas such as: Lobbies, Elevators, Clubhouse, Kitchens, Models, Fitness Center, Leasing Office, Rooftop Areas.
- Ability to perform the following essential duties for the listed common areas and vacant units
➢ Cleaning Appliances and BBQ’s
➢ Cleaning of Countertops
➢ Cleaning of Windows
➢ Cleaning of Floors
➢ Cleaning of Cabinets
➢ Cleaning of Plumbing Restrooms, Sinks, Toilet Fixtures, Urinals, & Tubs
▪ This includes handling of Feces, Urine, Vomit, and other bodily excretion (Pet & Human).
▪ Proper handling and disposal of biohazard or environmental waste
➢ Cleaning of Light Fixtures
➢ Light Trash and debris disposal
➢ Trash Pick-up & Sorting
➢ Power Washing
➢ Assist in all cleaning efforts based on business needs
➢ Provide a clean environment in accordance to COVID-19 cleaning protocols
- Notifies EVS Supervisor, as directed, regarding any supplies necessary to complete cleaning requests.
- Understand layout of the property and awareness of equipment locations
- Communicate with the Chief or Assistant Chief Engineers about unsafe or hazardous environments on the property
- Able to comply with OSHA standards and laws
- Other Assignments & Duties may be assigned based on Business Needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to maintain the required property uniform and ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
- Able to be courteous, efficient and responsive at all times.
- Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times
- Able to be responsible for thorough knowledge of company policies and property community policies
- Able to accept other duties as assigned by property leadership
- Ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment
- Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Preventive Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintains awareness of proper safety precautions at all times by physically walking the property on a frequent basis.
- Constantly observes the condition of apartment property throughout the community and immediately reports and/or initiates action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Ensures that storage areas always remain locked when not in use.
- Responsible for upkeep of apartment property inside and out by removing litter, debris and other trash.
- Operate and maintain trash compactors and cardboard baler. Keep are clean and report necessary malfunctions.
- Collection and removal of all landfill, recycling and compost debris, including large/small abandoned items from building.
- Assist Maintenance team with move out tasks or other Maintenance projects as needed.
- Performs minor routine maintenance on property as requested by management, such as replacing windows, screens, sliding doors, paint, etc.
- Help keep storage and shop areas clean and safe.
- Will service multiple properties.
- Perform power washing, floor care, and carpet cleaning duties.
- Removal of large items such a as furniture and/or appliances.
Education and/or Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience as Environmental Services housekeeper/porter/janitor for a multifamily urban or suburban property, of at least 250+ units.
- Prior experience creating clean move in apartments: windows, carpet, paint, etc. preferred.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50-60 pounds
- Able to communicate verbally and read/write English
Physical Requirements: Extensive mobility required. Must be able to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include, but are not limited to: ability to walk property, including 4 flights of stairs, to complete physical inspections, deliver resident communications, and show apartments. Significant Typing and computer use required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Pay: $26.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
