Full Job Description

The full salary range for the Assistant Controller - Financial Audit and Reporting is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $140,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The Assistant Controller of Financial Reporting and Controls reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor-Business & Financial Services and Controller. This position manages the accuracy of financial statements, ensures GAAP/GASB/regulatory compliance, supports executive leadership by preparing financial reports. Provides budget-to-actual variance analysis and supports the CFO in strategic financial planning and forecasting and establishment of reporting templates for the campus. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Due to the intensity of fiscal year end closing, vacations are not normally granted in July. Weekend and evening work may be required. Expert knowledge of analytical procedures used in accounting projects of complex scope which involve unique issues. Advanced understanding of the interrelationship between procedures and desired results. Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and report on data that is complex in nature. Expert ability to effectively communicate complex information to management verbally and in writing. Highly experienced using financial transactions and financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and unique and complex regulatory compliance requirements. Expert knowledge of common desktop/web applications. Expert level accounting related knowledge and skills; in-depth knowledge of the accounting function.
