Position Overview
We're seeking a Converting Operator Level 1 to join our manufacturing team in Livermore. This role is essential to our mission of delivering precision-manufactured components that support critical applications across aerospace, defense, and medical device industries.
As a Converting Operator Level 1, you'll work with advanced manufacturing equipment and systems to transform raw materials into custom components that meet exacting specifications. You'll be part of a team that takes pride in quality craftsmanship and understands that the parts we produce enable innovations that save and protect lives.
Key Responsibilities
Material Processing & Preparation
● Prepare materials for various converting operations according to work instructions and quality specifications
● Ensure proper material handling and storage procedures are followed
Equipment Operation
● Operate die presses to cut precise components from various materials
● Run waterjet cutting operations for complex geometries and tight tolerances
● Operate digital and CNC cutting machines for prototype and production volumes
● Manage laminating machine operations for multi-layer assemblies
● Execute slitting operations to achieve specified material widths
● Perform splicing operations to join materials as required
● Operate forklift equipment safely for material handling and warehouse operations
● Manual assembly of components including tasks like manual marking on parts, manual placement of adhesives, and more
Quality & Documentation
● Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation through our ERP system
● Perform post-processing work including trimming, cleaning, and finishing operations
● Conduct quality checks to ensure components meet specifications
● Follow all safety protocols and quality procedures
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
● High school diploma or equivalent
● Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Basic computer skills for ERP system navigation
Preferred Experience
● Previous experience in manufacturing or converting operations
● Familiarity with precision measuring tools
● Experience with manufacturing equipment operation
● Knowledge of material handling best practices
Physical Requirements
● Ability to stand for extended periods
● Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
● Manual dexterity for equipment operation and material handling
● Visual acuity for quality inspection work
