An exceptional opportunity is available for a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Educator ready to elevate nursing practice across a high-acuity maternity service on California’s Central Coast. This is a visible, high-impact role for an experienced Labor and Delivery Clinical Educator who thrives in high risk obstetrics, evidence based education, staff development and mentorship, family centered maternity care, collaborative interdisciplinary team environments. The Labor and Delivery unit, part of a comprehensive Women’s Services and Perinatal Services program, manages a dynamic blend of routine and complex obstetric cases. As the Perinatal Clinical Nurse Educator, you will influence practice across L&D, Obstetrics, and the Birthing Center, ensuring clinical competencies align with evolving evidence and regulatory standards. Daily work includes leading simulations, supporting bedside nurses in high-risk scenarios, partnering with physicians on workflow improvements, and advancing quality initiatives tied to maternal and neonatal outcomes. This is a hands-on educator role with real operational visibility—ideal for an OB Clinical Educator who wants meaningful input into policy, orientation design, and competency validation while maintaining credibility at the bedside.

Reporting to nursing leadership within Women’s Services, the Perinatal Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates closely with department managers, physician champions, advanced practice providers, and ancillary leaders. You will guide competency programs, mentor charge nurses and preceptors, support performance improvement efforts, and serve as a clinical resource during complex cases. Executive leaders value data-informed recommendations and empower this role to influence education strategy, workforce readiness, and long-term service line goals.
