Duties
- Provide comprehensive legal support across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, credit union law, family law & regulations.
- Manage legal case files using document management systems, ensure accurate filing and data entry.
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with precision and clarity.
- Assist in client communication by scheduling interviews, preparing case summaries, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Support litigation processes through document review, civil litigation support, procedural law adherence, and case management activities.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files; ensure compliance with procedural requirements and confidentiality standards.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing calendars, transcribing notes, and supporting executive administrative functions.
- Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as needed; gather relevant information for case development.
- Collaborate with attorneys on project management tasks to meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
- Proven experience with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; strong ability to analyze complex legal issues.
- Proficiency in legal case management; adept at document review and management systems.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents; strong proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure accuracy.
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective client communication skills; professional phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities essential for liaising with clients and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document preparation and data entry; familiarity with document management systems is preferred.
- Strong research skills combined with an understanding of procedural laws across various jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting attorneys in litigation processes; familiarity with civil & commercial litigation procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of professionalism in all interactions.
