The Driver role is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients to and from the FDI Clinical Site Locations as well as to testing or screening appointments with local vendors.
Essential Job Duties
- Operate company vehicles to transport clients, passengers, or goods efficiently and safely, following traffic laws and company policies
- Plan and follow optimal routes using navigation systems to ensure timely arrivals
- Welcome patients, participants, and visitors by greeting them in person.
- Assist patients (if needed) in and out of vehicle, and safely transporting them to facility or home location. Load and unload goods or assist passengers with luggage if requested or needed
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of vehicles
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, including checking oil, water, tires, and other technical aspects. Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance
- Document transport in a timely and proficient manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols, driving rules/regulations, emergency procedures, and company guidelines
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal information.
- Participate in required trainings and meetings
- Assist with other projects or tasks assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications: A High School diploma and 5+ years prior driving experience is required. Must have a valid driver’s license (in good standing) and a clean driving record. Bi-lingual (English / Spanish) proficiency is required.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft applications, email, electronic health records, web applications, and the ability to type proficiently (40+ wpm);
- Performing basic clinical procedures such as blood pressure, vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, etc
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to work well independently as well as with co-workers, subjects, managers and external customers.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, and adapt to changes in workloads and priorities.
- Must be professional, respectful of others, self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic.
- Must possess a high degree of integrity and dependability.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, identify problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner, and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
