Full Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Supervisor

Department: Procurement

Job Summary:

The Procurement Supervisor plays a crucial role in the furniture manufacturing industry by overseeing the acquisition of materials and supplies necessary for production. This position requires strategic planning, negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of the supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing:

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals.
Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure high-quality materials at competitive prices.

Supplier Management:

Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
Issue Purchase Orders
Receive materials/service against Purchase Orders and justify pricing and/or quantity variations.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and monitor their performance.

Inventory Management:

Build/maintain an inventory database with cost and sales price using FIFO
Oversee inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
Collaborate with the production team to anticipate material needs.

Cost Control:

Analyze market trends and pricing strategies to optimize procurement costs.
Prepare budget forecasts and track spending related to procurement.

Job Cost

Properly tag the project number/reference to every purchase to ensure the job has accurate and complete costs
Keep track of and organize the costs of all projects including service, freight and installation costs.

Procurement Planning:

Meet at least twice a week with the design team, production team and project management team to ensure required materials will be purchased correctly and on time for production.
Material Take Off

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in procurement processes.
Conduct quality checks on materials received and address any issues promptly.

Teamwork:

Manage all procurement activities
Fostering a collaborative environment.
Provide training on procurement best practices and tools.

Reporting

Weekly report on purchasing status for each project
Weekly report to inform Finance on what need to be purchased for that week, complete with vendor name, project # and amount.
Monthly report on project costs for each shipped project.

Computer Orientation

Must be computer proficient both in system and Microsoft suite.
Must be familiar with Quickbook and ERP software orientation (TBD)
Able to quickly adapt to new software implementation

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Experience and/or an Associate’s degree can be substituted for this requirement.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement in the furniture manufacturing sector.
Strong negotiation skills and proficiency in using computer equipment.
Able to learn, implement and adapt to new software applications as our organization is currently considering a new software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have at least 5 years of working experience with Quickbook online and have a deep understanding of the set up of QB inventory, purchasing, cost and job cost.
Understand how your job affects other departments’ performance.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel for supplier visits, industry events and customer installation sites.

Compensation:

The company provides a health care plan with employee contributions and a 401K plan.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
