Associate Project Manager – Construction
Tri Valley Striping LLC
Fremont, CA / Bay Area
$62,000–$78,000 per yearFull-Time | Hybrid / Mobile
Build Your Career in Construction Project Management
Tri Valley Striping is a rapidly growing pavement marking and roadway improvement contractor serving general contractors, developers, property owners, and municipalities across Northern California.
Our projects include commercial developments, parking garages and parking lots, multifamily housing, roadway improvements, and public infrastructure.
Since new ownership acquired the company in October 2025, Tri Valley Striping has been expanding its operations, customer base, field capabilities, and project management team to support continued growth.
We are seeking a motivated Associate Project Manager who wants to build a long-term career in construction project management and develop into a full Project Manager role.
This is not a purely administrative position. You will work directly with our Project Manager, President, Operations team, estimators, administrative team, customers, general contractors, and field crews to help move projects from award through planning, scheduling, field execution, closeout, and billing.
Initially, much of your responsibility will involve project coordination, pre-planning, job setup, documentation, scheduling support, site visits, and follow-through. As you learn our business and demonstrate your capabilities, you will begin taking ownership of smaller projects and developing toward a full Project Manager position.
Flexible Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid and mobile work environment, allowing team members to work effectively from multiple locations, including:
- Home office
- Project/job sites
- Company operations facility in Fremont
- Customer and project meetings
- While traveling between projects
This is not a fully remote position. Being willing to visit jobsites and learn how our crews actually perform the work is an important part of becoming an effective Project Manager.
Strong candidates should be comfortable managing responsibilities, communicating with teams, and staying organized while working in a mobile construction environment.

- Identify missing information and proactively obtain it from customers or internal team members
- Assist with planning labor, equipment, materials, and project sequencing
- Help ensure field operations have the information necessary to execute projects efficiently
Project Coordination
- Support the Project Manager across multiple active projects
- Coordinate scheduling of crews, materials, equipment, and project activities with Operations
- Track project progress, timelines, open items, and deliverables
- Maintain project calendars, schedules, and project status information
- Communicate scheduling and project updates with customers and internal teams
- Follow up proactively on outstanding information and action items
- Attend job walks, project meetings, job starts, and final walkthroughs when needed
- Help identify issues before they result in delays, additional mobilizations, or unnecessary costs
Field & Operations Support
- Spend time in the field learning how our crews perform the work
- Develop an understanding of pavement striping, thermoplastic markings, signage, ADA improvements, layout, surface preparation, pavement maintenance, and related scopes
- Understand the roles of Project Management, Operations, Crew Leads, and field personnel
- Help identify jobsite conditions that could affect production, scheduling, quality, or cost
- Collect and organize job photos, field updates, quantities, and completion documentation
- Communicate field issues quickly and clearly so they can be resolved

- Organize completion photos, quantities, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Make sure completed projects have the information necessary for timely billing
- Coordinate with accounting and administration to move completed work through closeout and invoicing
- Track outstanding documentation or approvals preventing projects from being closed and billed

- Field crews and laborers

- Field Operations
- Project Managers
- Estimating and Sales
- Accounting and Administrative staff

- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Spanish-speaking or bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, particularly for communication and coordination with field crews

What Success Looks Like
During your first several months, you will learn how Tri Valley Striping moves projects from award through completion and become increasingly responsible for project setup, coordination, documentation, and follow-through.
As you develop, you will begin managing smaller and less complex projects with oversight from our Project Manager.
The goal is not for you to remain in a support role indefinitely. We want to develop someone who can eventually independently manage construction projects.
A successful Associate Project Manager will become capable of:
- Setting up projects with limited supervision
- Reviewing scope and identifying missing information before mobilization
- Coordinating effectively between customers, Project Management, Operations, and field crews
- Managing smaller projects from scheduling through closeout
- Identifying potential change orders before extra work is performed
- Understanding how labor, equipment, production, and scheduling affect project profitability
- Keeping project documentation organized and current
- Making sure completed work moves quickly into billing
- Taking increasing ownership rather than waiting for every next step to be assigned
Career Growth
This role is specifically designed as a development position with strong advancement opportunities.
Typical progression:
Associate Project Manager → Project Manager → Senior Project Manager / Projects Manager → Operations Leadership
High-performing candidates may have the opportunity to advance to Project Manager within approximately 12–24 months, depending on performance, capability, and company growth.
We are looking for someone who wants to take on increasing responsibility and grow with the company rather than perform the same responsibilities indefinitely.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $62,000–$78,000 per year, depending on construction experience, project management experience, education, and demonstrated capabilities.
Benefits include:
- Health, dental, and vision benefits
