Full Job Description

Experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

We’re looking for an experienced, dependable Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental team.

We want someone who is friendly, professional, organized, and confident working with patients and supporting the doctor. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who works well with a team and takes pride in providing great patient care.

What we’re looking for:

Current California RDA license
Dental assisting experience
Proficient in making quality temporary crowns
Understands effective patient and team handoffs
Strong communication and patient care skills
Reliable, proactive, positive, and team-oriented
Comfortable working in a busy dental office

Duties

Assist dentists during general dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental x-rays, including intraoral and panoramic images, ensuring adherence to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety protocols.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records.
Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric and adult patients.
Support front desk duties by conducting proper handoffs ensuring smooth clinic flow.

Requirements

Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting and proficient in making temporary crowns.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards.
Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure clinical safety and efficiency.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly within a healthcare team.
Knowledge of medical documentation practices and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA policies.
Familiarity with specialized areas such as endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
