Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Yanagi Sushi Kitchen Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic Japanese sushi dishes in a lively, high-energy environment. As a key member of our kitchen, you will bring your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to food safety to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. If you thrive in fast-paced settings and have a love for fine dining and Japanese cuisine, this position is perfect for you!

Duties

Lead kitchen operations, supervising staff to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to standards

Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
Maintain strict food safety sanitizing procedures and uphold hygiene standards across all kitchen areas
Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning, special event catering, and seasonal offerings
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills in food preparation and service excellence

Requirements

Proven experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine within a restaurant or fine dining setting
Demonstrated supervising or team management experience in a culinary environment
Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and HACCP standards
Strong background in food production, catering, and restaurant management practices
Ability to handle inventory management efficiently and control food costs effectively
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Experience with banquet service, shift management, and catering operations is highly desirable
Familiarity with food handling regulations within the hospitality industry
Passion for culinary arts with a focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction
