Full Job Description

Commercial Drywall Estimator

Location: Buda, TX
Job Type: Full Time - Salary

About Us

We are a growing commercial drywall and acoustical contractor that has proudly served Texas for over 70 years. With a long-standing reputation for quality, integrity, and performance, we specialize in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and specialty ceiling systems on projects ranging from schools and healthcare facilities to offices, retail developments, warehouses, and large-scale commercial construction.

Our Central Texas office is located in Buda, Texas, and supports projects throughout Austin, San Antonio, and the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

· Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial drywall, metal framing, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and specialty ceiling systems.

· Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.

· Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or value engineering opportunities.

· Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.

· Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates and bid proposals.

· Develop scope letters and clarifications.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.

· Coordinate with Project Managers during project turnover after award.

· Maintain bid schedules and meet proposal deadlines.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and manufacturers.

· Assist in budgeting and conceptual estimating when needed.

· Stay informed on market pricing, material costs, and labor trends.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing and acoustical ceilings.

· Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

· Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

· Strong communication and negotiation skills.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.

· Knowledge of commercial construction methods and estimating practices.

· Established relationships with general contractors, architects, and suppliers in the Central Texas market.
