Goshawk Environmental Consulting is a Central Texas-based Environmental and Cultural Resources consulting firm founded in 2005. We maintain an interdisciplinary team to provide a wide scope of environmental and archaeological surveys and reports, as well as permitting and consultation assistance with federal and state agencies. We conduct work primarily in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, but office in Buda, Texas. We operate in a fast-paced environment and pride ourselves on responsiveness and accuracy. Position Summary
Searching for an experienced administrative assistant with a friendly personality and positive attitude. Must be computer savvy, honest, dependable, and a team player. Goshawk Environmental Consulting is a small but well-established environmental and archeological consulting firm located in Buda, Texas. This is not an entry-level position; please do not apply if you do not have prior administrative experience. Although work hours are flexible, they must be performed at our office between the hours of 7 AM to 6 PM.
This unique position includes editing and administrative tasks, with the goal of taking on increased administrative responsibilities for the company. The scope of the position includes editing of technical review letters and reports, NEPA documents, and permit applications. Reports will be edited for grammar, clarity, consistency, proper references, and overall quality. Understanding of the technical aspects of the reports is not required but is preferred. Administrative scope includes preparing monthly project status reports, assisting with our project/report tracking table, reviewing staff expense reports, invoicing and expense management, and other administrative tasks.
This role requires a detail-oriented, highly organized, critical thinker focused on execution, communication, and support. Persons applying should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and experience with Deltek Ajera for accounting/project management is preferred. Prior experience with proofreading/editing, especially for environmental/archeological work or similar technical writing, is preferred. Individuals should be comfortable with a fast-paced work environment, be able to meet strict deadlines, and maintain client confidentiality with professionalism. This position includes the opportunity for advancement and will ideally be filled by someone looking to remain with the company for a substantial period.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Environmental Sciences, Business, or similar
- 2–4 years of administrative, office management, or operations experience
- 2 years experience with accounting software such as QuickBook, Deltek Ajera preferred
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
