Full Job Description

Description:

We are committed to supporting at risk children and families providing them with tools and resources to help prevent children from experiencing child abuse, neglect and abandonment. We are a Christian agency that believes in living our mission, we provide Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need.

In response to this community-wide challenge, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS), provides 14 programs and services in 28 locations, in Missouri, Texas, and Louisiana, which provide children with permanent homes and adults with increased self-sufficiency. This is accomplished by the agency’s commitment to “The PCHAS Way” which inspires the agency to be strength-focused, family-centered, and goal driven with every client.

Responsible for interviewing, testing and referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. Reports to Director of Human Resources

Essential Job Functions:

1. Processes job requisitions.

2. Develop, implement, and ensure that high quality and contemporary recruitment methods to attract top quality candidates appropriate to the position and company needs are in place. Develop and maintain network of contacts to identify and source qualified candidates.

3. Manages internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.

4. Extends contingent job offers.

5. Maintains employee referral program.

6. Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as completing employment forms, notifying the department of employee's starting date and the requisition the employee is filling, etc.

7. Develop recruitment materials. Ensure that the PCHAS website stays current on all open positions.

8. Develop and coordinate the internal job posting program and write job postings.

Working Conditions:

Works in a typical office setting.
Occasional overnight travel will be required.
May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree, in human resources preferred or high school diploma or equivalent with 7 years HR experience required.

Experience:

Two years of full-cycle recruitment experience is required.

Skills:

Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with professionals and potential candidates. Ability to interact with all staff with tact, diplomacy and grace. Good organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines; able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines; knowledge of full-cycle recruitment.

The ideal candidate is computer literate, well-versed with Microsoft Office software

Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people. Must be able to analyze many variables and choose/recommend the most effective course of action for the agency at any given point in time. Must make effective decisions under the pressure of multiple deadlines. Must relate and interact with people at all levels of the agency in a culturally competent manner.

Other Requirements:

Must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record. Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and child care/elder care disqualification list screenings. As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the state of your employment and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.
