Can you make the perfect chocolate Valrhona 70% creamy chocolate pot de crème, moist coffee cake, well balanced fruit galette with a flaky crust? If so, come work for us!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR –

Someone with a passion for desserts and pastry as well as a more normal daytime pace of work. Someone not afraid of making the perfect stone fruit galette with buttery, light, airy and even slightly caramelized crust for a dinner for 10 and able to produce this same quality for 100 people the next day. Perhaps you want to throw in a complementing flavored ice cream and either make this or have your pulse on the SF food scene that you know the very best vendor to source this?

We want someone to come in with energy and excitement and help us build and grow our desserts department.

Betty Zlatchin Catering (BZC) is a high-end catering group serving the Bay Area for over 35 years. We are true foodies. Our team of chefs and hospitality professionals comes from all over the world with years of fine dining experience. We are on the list of preferred caterers at the city’s major venues. We cook up the finest restaurant cuisine like Chez Panisse, Zuni, Slanted Door, Delfina, etc…and serve this to our guests in their amazing homes or in famous SF venues.

While we produce amazing events and hold ourselves to the highest of professional standards, our culture is family friendly, warm, and business casual.

THE IDEAL APPLICANT-

Specifically, you must have experience in producing all the basics: doughs, chocolate work, sugar work, ice cream, but also the basic assorted little finger dessert items to wow our clients. Experience in large production would be a huge plus as this is not a restaurant and scaling a dessert from 10 to 100 is indeed an art.

This position requires someone that feels comfortable working independently, meaning coming with a drive to create, showcase and show confidence in their skill but then also do what needs to be done to get the job done, work with a team.
