Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Department to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves managing patient intake processes, verifying insurance information, and facilitating a smooth registration experience for patients arriving in urgent care settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative procedures. By ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate data collection, you will contribute significantly to delivering high-quality emergency care services.

Responsibilities

The Patient Access Representative II ensures smooth patient access by handling registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
This role requires strong customer service, computer proficiency, and healthcare knowledge to support patients and maintain compliance.
Core Duties: Register, schedule, and obtain authorizations for inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services while securing accurate patient and funding information.
Customer Service: Build rapport with diverse patient families and staff, demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
Technical Skills: Perform data entry, type efficiently, and use personal computers to meet departmental productivity standards.
Medical Knowledge: Apply general medical terminology and healthcare experience to support accurate registration.
Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility, authorizations, and benefits using Epic and online resources.

MUST HAVE:

1+ yrs experience in patient scheduling, registration, billing and claims payment
Should have experience working in a fast face hospital setting
Should have experience working in an ER (EMERGENCY ROOM)
EPIC/ EMR Knowledge
Knowledge of Insurance Eligibility & Insurance Verification, knowledge of understanding insurance benefits and prior authorizations for Health Insurance carriers
Should be open to working overtime
Should have minimum High School Diploma or GED

Shift Timing: 6PM-2:30AM

Weekly schedule: M-F

CH1

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Experience:
