Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly, providing support to the chefs and contributing to the overall dining experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and instructions from chefs to prepare menu items efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
Handle food items safely and responsibly, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Participate in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements based on seasonal ingredients.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
Utilize knife skills effectively for precise food preparation.
Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
Strong background in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or culinary setting.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Experience with meal preparation, catering, and serving is advantageous.
Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are required.
