The Opportunity
United Way of Sandusky County is seeking a mission-driven, collaborative, and innovative President & CEO to serve as our organization's brand ambassador and champion throughout the community. This leader will connect donors, agency partners, government, businesses, and residents around a shared vision, leveraging relationships across every sector to improve conditions and quality of life across Sandusky County. The candidate must be a resident of Sandusky County or be willing to relocate.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Resource Development
1. Cultivate major gifts and grow the donor pipeline.
- Develop strategies to engage new and younger donors and adapt to philanthropic trends.
- Research funding sources and lead proposal, grant, and campaign development.
Community Impact
1. Serve as staff liaison to all funded partner agencies.
2. Set strategic, long-term direction for community investments with the Board.
3. Determine priorities, allocate resources, and lead through obstacles to reach community goals.
Leadership & Board Governance
1. Lead the annual campaign plan in partnership with the Board of Directors.
2. Serve as primary resource and support to the Board, informing policy and interpretation.
3. Build an effective, motivated, and engaged Board alongside its members.
Organizational Management
1. Maintain fiscal and operational integrity within Board-set policy.
2. Oversee day-to-day administration, including third-party contractors as needed.
3. Recruit, orient, and support new Board members in partnership with current leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
1. Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience will be considered
2. 5-7 years of experience in a nonprofit, business, or public-sector setting, including staff supervision and financial management
3. Demonstrated fundraising experience, including donor cultivation and grant writing; campaign leadership experience preferred
4. Experience working with or reporting to a volunteer Board of Directors strongly preferred
5. A collaborative, high-integrity leadership style and genuine passion for Sandusky County
6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, or access to transportation as needed.
7. Ability to successfully pass drug screening, BCII, and FBI background checks.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
