Full Job Description

Estimator - Mitigation & Restoration

AAA Restoration & Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced Mitigation & Restoration Estimator to join our growing team. We are a well-established restoration contractor serving residential and commercial clients. This position is ideal for a motivated estimator who understands both mitigation and reconstruction and can produce accurate, defensible estimates using Xactimate.

Position Overview

The Estimator is responsible for inspecting losses, documenting damage, communicating with property owners and insurance professionals, and preparing detailed mitigation and repair estimates. The ideal candidate will have prior restoration industry experience and be proficient in Xactimate estimating software.

Compensation

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year DOE

Responsibilities

Inspect residential and commercial property losses
Prepare accurate mitigation and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate
Create detailed scopes of work for water, mold, fire, and reconstruction projects
Document losses with photos, moisture readings, and supporting documentation
Communicate professionally with homeowners, property managers, adjusters, and insurance carriers
Review and negotiate estimates when necessary
Coordinate with project managers, mitigation technicians, and subcontractors
Track supplements and change orders
Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and comply with industry standards

Qualifications Required

Previous restoration estimating experience
Proficiency in Xactimate
Experience writing both mitigation and reconstruction estimates
Strong understanding of restoration and construction practices
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Preferred

IICRC certifications
Experience with large-loss or commercial projects
Experience working directly with insurance carriers and adjusters
