Full Job Description

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Property Accountant for a contract-to-hire position. This is a Full-Time, On-Site role in Georgia. The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily residential properties.
Prepare and analyze monthly property financial statements and supporting schedules.
Complete month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
Reconcile property-related balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and security deposits.
Partner with Property Managers and Operations teams to review financial performance, variances, and operating expenses.
Assist with annual property budgets, forecasts, and cash management reporting.
Ensure compliance with ownership, lender, investor, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate financial records within Yardi, MRI, Entrata, or similar property accounting systems.
Support property acquisitions, dispositions, transitions, and year-end audit activities.
Manage accounting responsibilities across multiple multifamily assets while meeting reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
5+ years of multifamily property accounting experience required.
Strong understanding of property financial statements, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Experience with Yardi, MRI, Entrata, or comparable property accounting software.
Experience with affordable housing, HUD, USDA, or LIHTC properties is a plus.
