Part-Time Boutique Sales Associate
Llama Butterfly | City Creek Center | Salt Lake City, Utah
Pay: $14–$17 per hour, based on experience
Part-Time | Approximately 20–30 hours per week
About Llama Butterfly
Llama Butterfly is a boutique luxury brand rooted in Peruvian heritage, refined craftsmanship, and a focus on natural fibers.
Our boutique features thoughtfully made alpaca and baby alpaca pieces, along with handcrafted accessories and artisan gifts selected for their beauty, warmth, comfort, and enduring appeal.
Located at City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake City, Llama Butterfly offers a shopping experience that feels personal, welcoming, and quietly refined. We value genuine connection, thoughtful service, and helping customers discover pieces they will enjoy living with and wearing.
The Role
We are hiring two part-time Boutique Sales Associates to join Llama Butterfly this fall.
We are looking for warm, dependable, and responsible people who enjoy connecting with customers, learning the stories and craftsmanship behind thoughtfully made products, and creating a welcoming boutique experience.
This is a hands-on position in a small boutique. Associates will often work independently and should feel comfortable taking responsibility for the store during their scheduled shifts, including opening or closing when assigned.
The right person is attentive, confident, and customer-focused, with an understanding that meaningful sales come through listening, product knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and genuine customer connection.
Because these positions will provide important store coverage, reliability, punctuality, communication, and personal responsibility are essential.
Pay
$14–$17 per hour, depending on experience, availability, and ability to take on store responsibilities, including independent opening and closing shifts.
Schedule & Availability
Regular schedules will generally include 4–6 hour shifts, approximately 20–30 hours per week, Monday through Saturday.
Llama Butterfly is closed on Sundays.
Store Hours
Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM–8:00 PM
Friday–Saturday: 10:00 AM–9:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
We are hiring two associates with different anticipated start dates:
Position 1: Available to begin approximately September 14–16, 2026
Position 2: Available to begin approximately October 5–10, 2026
October Coverage
Both associates must have strong availability for an important mid-to-late October coverage period.
During this period, the two associates will share responsibility for maintaining full boutique coverage. Shifts will generally be approximately 5–5½ hours, including opening and closing shifts.
During one week of the coverage period, both associates may be scheduled for six days, totaling approximately 31–32 hours for the week.
Dependable availability during this period is an essential requirement of the position.
Following the temporary coverage period, one ongoing part-time position is expected to continue, based on performance, reliability, availability, customer service, sales ability, and the needs of the boutique.

What We're Looking For
We would especially like to meet someone who is:

- Warm, approachable, and comfortable speaking with customers
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of a shift
- Confident opening or closing a retail store
- Naturally attentive to details, organization, and presentation
- Interested in natural fibers, craftsmanship, artisan-made products, and thoughtful design
- Comfortable learning product details and communicating them clearly

- Available for the required mid-to-late October coverage period
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual candidates are a plus, but not required
- Experience creating social media content, including simple product photos, short-form videos, Stories, or Reels, is preferred but not required
Previous experience in boutique retail, apparel, accessories, gift retail, hospitality, luxury retail, or customer service is preferred.
Experience independently opening or closing a store is especially valuable.
We are also open to someone with less direct retail experience who demonstrates maturity, excellent communication, strong customer instincts, and a clear record of reliability.
The Llama Butterfly Approach
We want associates who know when to welcome a customer, when to give them space to discover, and when thoughtful guidance can make their experience more meaningful.
Rather than simply selling a product, our associates help customers understand the natural fibers, craftsmanship, comfort, and story behind each piece.
A successful associate will help the boutique feel calm, welcoming, considered, and beautifully cared for—whether a customer makes a purchase that day or simply discovers Llama Butterfly for the first time.
