Position Summary

Join one of Central Florida’s oldest and most established social service agencies in our effort to combat homelessness by getting individuals into housing rapidly.

Our mission is to prevent homelessness, combat poverty, cultivate self-sufficiency, restore hope and glorify God through the faithful provision of services that directly address physical, emotional and spiritual needs for families and individuals who are struggling in Central Florida. With locations in Downtown Orlando, Winter Park and Ocoee the Christian Service Center has been serving Central Florida families with compassion and care for 49 years.

Christian Service Center Case Manager’s advocate on behalf of clients seeking assistance by comprehensively interviewing, researching, referring and/or offering resources entrusted to this Agency and/or its partners.

Homeless Prevention Case Managers focus on a client’s current housing status and strives to ensure that individual or families remains housed. This is primarily done through rent and utility payment assistance, access to public benefits to increase resources/income, and general referrals to additional community resources.

Chief Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Interview clients seeking assistance in a pleasant and positive manner
Identify underlying problems
Secure all necessary paperwork and documentation for assistance requested
Determine assistance needed and, in cooperation with other Case Workers and partners, determine appropriate plan for client’s case
Make appropriate referrals
Assure client is clear on all determinations and assistance rendered or not
Document completely background information, suggestions, referrals, assistance given and future plans utilizing the HMIS system

Education and Experience

Preferred experience:

Fluency in English and Spanish

Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate certification in a relevant social services field
