Position Summary:

ORLANDO HEALTH – HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL
Located in Ocoee, Florida, Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital is a 252-bed comprehensive medical and surgical acute-care facility that has been serving the residents of west Orange County for more than 70 years. Services range from 24/7 emergency care to cardiovascular and stroke care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, minimally invasive robotic surgery and more. Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Demonstrates competency in routine noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology and/or vascular ultrasound diagnostics, and equipment operation and maintenance.
Performs routine assignments using existing procedure guidelines.
Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from more senior level sonographers.
Use prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations.
Has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the job.
Recognizes normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology in conjunction with obtaining and documenting pertinent clinical and diagnostic information.
Works closely with the cardiologist to perform noninvasive and/or invasive cardiology and/or vascular

diagnostic sonographic exams, and functions independently in the absence of the supervisor and/or
manager.

Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of

procedures.

Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.

Other Related Functions

Assist in transporting of patients.
Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
Assists in clerical duties, such as, but not limited to, printing reports, scanning documents, and scheduling of patients.
Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Maintains well stocked and organized work areas.
May be required to work at any Orlando Health facility.
Assists with other departmental duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification

Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Must maintain one of the following:
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in fetal echocardiography; or
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); or • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS); or

Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
