Lake & Pond Maintenance Laborer
Sunshine Waterfront Services LLC is looking for a dependable, hardworking Lake & Pond Maintenance Laborer to join our crew. This is a hands-on outdoor position involving the cleanup, maintenance, and removal of unwanted vegetation and debris from lakes, ponds, shorelines, and beaches throughout Central Florida.
No previous lake or pond experience is required. We are looking for someone who is reliable, physically capable, willing to work hard, and comfortable working outdoors.
Job Responsibilities
- Remove aquatic weeds, lake vegetation, grasses, and debris from lakes and ponds
- Rake and pitchfork aquatic vegetation and debris
- Load and transport vegetation using wheelbarrows and other equipment
- Cut and remove bushes, vines, small trees, and unwanted shoreline vegetation
- Perform shoreline and beach cleanup
- Assist with loading trailers, dumpsters, and equipment
- Operate hand tools and landscaping equipment
- Assist with aquatic vegetation removal using specialized equipment
- Work from shorelines, beaches, docks, and occasionally in shallow water
- Maintain and clean job sites after work is completed
- Follow directions from crew leaders and work efficiently as part of a team
- Perform other general labor duties related to lake, pond, and waterfront maintenance
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding outdoor job. Employees should be comfortable with:
- Lifting and carrying heavy vegetation and debris
- Repeated raking, shoveling, cutting, and loading
- Pushing and pulling loaded wheelbarrows
- Standing, walking, bending, and working for extended periods
- Working in hot, humid Florida weather
- Working around water, mud, vegetation, and uneven terrain
- Performing physical labor throughout the workday
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to the company/job site
- Company is located in Winter Springs on Highway 1792 and 434.
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Must be dependable and show up on time
- Must be willing to work hard and take direction
- Landscaping, construction, lawn care, farm work, or general labor experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience operating power tools or landscaping equipment is a plus
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in Florida heat
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
