Full Job Description

Job Summary:
The Rodbuster is responsible for assembling and installing reinforcing steel (rebar) used in concrete construction projects such as foundations, slabs, columns, bridges, and other structures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring structural integrity and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and rebar schedules
Measure, cut, bend, and tie reinforcing steel using appropriate tools and equipment
Install rebar, wire mesh, and post-tension cables in accordance with design specifications
Secure rebar in place using wire, clips, or welds prior to concrete pours
Work with cranes or rigging equipment to position heavy materials
Inspect rebar installations to ensure proper alignment, spacing, and structural integrity
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards
Collaborate with supervisors, concrete crews, and other trades on-site
Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and position materials weighing up to 75+ pounds
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment:

Active construction site with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment

Qualifications:

1–3+ years of experience in concrete reinforcement or structural steel work preferred
Ability to read construction drawings and follow technical instructions
