BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision, control and direction of the project team members and project leaders, during all phases of the Project Delivery Process, the Student Intern assists with the creation, documentation and presentation of architectural, interior design and planning content intended to advance projects in the studio, and participates in the Design Process to research, explore and generate design solutions. This is an entry level / BASIC LEVEL position that requires the supervision of a Licensed Design Professional along with required practical and relevant student experience during the pursuit of a Professional Degree in Architecture or a related Undergraduate Design Degree Program.
It is sometimes preferable to reserve student internships for Student Interns who are currently completing the final two years of their degree or graduate degree programs in order to ensure that the prerequisite skill sets and context needed to gain the full value and experience offered from a 2-3 month internship. Longer term Student internships may also be considered and may provide the insight needed preceding a students decision to enter into a Design ar Architectural degree program. Whatever the case may be, it is AB design studio’s distinct pleasure and responsibility to nurture the next generation of Designers and Architects and as such Student internships are encouraged and a part of the AB design studio culture and experience.
