Full Job Description

About us

We are supportive, rewarding, and engaging practice with the primary objective to provide personalized patient care.

As a Receptionist/Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctor or nurse practitioner and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication with the primary focus of delivering patient-centered and customer service oriented care.

Responsibilities

Patient Care

* Check in, room patients and obtain vitals, measurements, histories, and reason for visit.
* Prepare patients and examination rooms for visits and procedures.
* Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
* Administer vaccines and medications as ordered and within scope of practice.
* Perform basic laboratory testing, specimen collection, EKGs, vision and hearing screening.
* Facilitate developmental, behavioral, and other patient screening questionnaires.
* Provide approved patient education materials and reinforce provider instructions without independently providing medical advice.

Clinical Support & Coordination

* Process prescription refill and prior authorization requests for provider review.
* Assist with laboratory, imaging, referral, and follow-up workflows.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
* Assist with forms and medical-record requests.
* Communicate with patients and families regarding clinical matters according to practice protocols.

Clinical Operations

* Maintain medical supplies, vaccines, equipment, and examination rooms.
* Follow infection-control, safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
* Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day.
* Assist with opening and closing clinical areas.
* Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to support smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

* Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience; certification preferred.
* Pediatric experience preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organization and attention to detail.
* Comfortable working with infants, children, adolescents, and their families.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative small-practice environment.
* Comfortable with electronic health records and digital communication.

The ideal candidate will be warm, dependable, organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a personalized pediatric practice where both clinical quality and the patient experience are important.

Responsibilities may evolve based on patient needs, practice growth, regulatory requirements, and the ongoing needs of the practice.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 32 per week
