Head Lucid Assistant

About the Role

Lucid Therapeutics is looking for an experienced, steady, and detail-driven leader to serve as our Head Lucid Assistant. This is a full-time, in-person, patient-facing leadership role at our Santa Barbara mental health clinic. The Head LA is the lead Lucid Assistant on the floor — leading our team of Lucid Assistants (LAs), upholding daily clinical and operational standards, and personally providing hands-on procedural support for Spravato sessions, including taking client vital signs and maintaining chart documentation. All clinical procedures, including vitals monitoring and chart/documentation workflows, are taught through on-the-job training — no prior clinical certification is required.

This role reports directly to the Practice Manager, and works closely with our Director of Operations, supervising providers, care coordinators, and the LA team. It is best suited for someone who has led a team before, thrives on structure and follow-through, and is energized by keeping a clinical environment running smoothly from the inside out.

Schedule & Hours

Full-time, in-office position — this is not a remote role
Standard clinic hours — this position covers clinic hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, arriving 15 minutes before opening and staying until 15 minutes after close or when the last patient leaves

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation depends on experience

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the LA Team

Lead and support all other LAs in day-to-day operations
Uphold the standards set out in the LA Daily SOP at all times, and follow them personally to model high standards for the team
Keep the LA Daily SOP updated as workflows, tools, or expectations change
Hold weekly LA team meetings
Bring team or operational issues to the Practice Manager as they arise — don't wait for the weekly meeting if something needs attention sooner
Give LAs feedback in the moment, in addition to structured check-ins

Direct Patient Care & Clinical Documentation (Hands-On, On-the-Job Trained)

Serve as the primary Lucid Assistant supporting clients through their Spravato treatment sessions, following the LA SOP for Supporting Spravato Clients from greeting through exit
Personally take and record client vital signs (blood pressure and SpO2) before, during, and after each session, ensuring three BP/SpO2 readings are documented in each client's chart per visit
Take ownership of chart note accuracy: process Marvix recordings, confirm they populate correctly into the Spravato note, proofread thoroughly, and enter vital sign readings into the chart
Prepare documentation for provider review before each session
Model these clinical and documentation standards for the rest of the LA team, since every LA is expected to perform them — training on vitals monitoring and charting is provided fully on the job; no prior clinical certification is required

Daily Checklist Oversight

Confirm both the Downstairs and Upstairs LA Daily Checklists are completed and initialed every day
Follow up directly with the responsible LA any day a checklist is incomplete or missing initials

Facility Cleanliness & Mail Oversight

Oversee general office cleanliness beyond what's covered in the daily LA checklists, delegating extra tasks as needed
Personally manage the Scanned Mail & Weekly Mail Handoff process — scanning, categorizing, and logging incoming mail
Separate and flag checks for handoff to Remi each Thursday, escalating immediately if a deposit deadline is at risk

Office Inventory & Ordering

Monitor stock levels for office, cleaning, patient comfort, TMS, and procedure supplies
Manage the weekly ordering process and track deliveries
Review supply utilization monthly and identify cost-saving opportunities

Communication System Support

Monitor the patient and internal messaging inbox throughout the day and help triage patient messages
Escalate safety concerns, adverse events, medication questions, or any mention of suicidal ideation to clinical staff immediately

General Administrative Duties

Support office operations as needed
Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
Complete required trainings and certifications

Who We're Looking For

Prior experience leading a team in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare-adjacent setting strongly preferred
Comfortable — or willing to become comfortable through training — taking vital signs (blood pressure, SpO2) and maintaining accurate clinical chart documentation; full training is provided on the job, so no prior clinical certification is required
Comfortable with structured clinical protocols, inventory systems, and compliance requirements
Calm, grounded presence — able to support patients through Spravato sessions with warmth and confidence
Exceptional reliability and attention to detail, especially around documentation and inventory tracking
Strong communicator, comfortable giving feedback and holding a team to a high standard
Looking for a long-term leadership role, not a short-term or transitional position
