Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy colon and rectal surgery practice with two providers. There is currently a full time receptionist, scheduler/manager, and biller at the office. You would primarily be assisting the receptionist but from time to time there may be opportunities to assist with other related tasks.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and check them in efficiently using Epic.
Schedule appointments accurately while managing the clinic calendar and coordinating with healthcare providers.
Manage patient records by filing, retrieving, and updating electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
Answer phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle inquiries related to appointments, billing, or medical records promptly.
Assist with sending/receiving Electronic faxes
Support clinical staff by preparing care plans documentation and assisting with administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools.
Managing incoming/outgoing referrals
Sending patient emails for results, follow-ups, and to request reviews

Skills

Prior experience in a medical office is helpful but not required
Experience with Epic helpful but not required
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings preferred.
Ability to handle sensitive information following HIPAA guidelines while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Proficient computer skills across Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines and scanners.
Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinic setting while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and appointment scheduling.
Strong organizational skills combined with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication abilities.
